HB 328: Funding and Improvements for the Boni Bill
Updated On: May 25, 2010 (19:43:00)

Status: This bill passed the House Health and Welfare Committee but died at the end of the legislative session.  However, language from the Boni Bill, specifically around funding, has been requested as part of the budget (which has yet to be approved by lawmakers).

AFSCME members and DCBS employees have knocked on the doors of lawmakers and testified several times in the past several months.  We have spoked loud and clear on this issue: we need safer jobs and we need relief from unmanageable caseload levels.

AFSCME members April Tidwell and Larry Simmons testify in support of stronger Boni Bill provisions to the House Health and Welfare Committee in January 2010.

No increased health care costs for state workers and our families!

The final budget will cut $94 million out of the state employee health care plan.  The Governor vetoed language in the budget that prescribed how these savings will be achieved- by increasing OUR share of the cost- and the decision now rests with the Personnel cabinet.

Stay tuned for more information on changes to state employee health care!
